The next
record.
It’s finished.
Five songs are already out.
Technology was supposed to bring us closer.
You know how that went.
I made a 16-song record with producer Courtney Ballard. It lives somewhere between emo, pop-punk, alternative rock, electronic production and whatever else the song needed that day.
The record is about attention, isolation, sex, ego, shame, connection, and trying to stay human while everything around you is asking you to perform. Five songs from it are already out. The rest will arrive when the timing is right.
Before the full record arrives, The Insurmountable Cost of Mediocre Success — a forthcoming EP produced by Matt Bernstein — takes a darker, more intimate route into the same chapter.
Press play.
There was
other noise.
The solo catalog didn’t begin with this record. Earlier work includes Rotation, Revolver, Lump, along with Sorry Kyle and years of collaboration, production and live work.
I also co-founded Rebel and a Basketcase as a songwriter, vocalist, musician and producer. Within seven months, we were performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Apparently the quiet route was never available.
